His research explores how these tools are built, how they can improve software developer productivity, and how they can be used to debug and repair software when it breaks. He is the author of over 50 peer-reviewed publications, five of which received best paper awards at international venues. In 2010, he was awarded an NSF CAREER award to support his research and teaching on software debugging.
