This expert holds a Ph.D. in natural sciences. He founded and directs one of the world`s leading laboratories in basic and applied research related to human neuro-musculo-skeletal health and well being. This lab is a multidisciplinary research group with backgrounds in anatomy, biochemistry, biomechanics, muscle mechanics, physiology and motor control. This expert`s research and consulting activities concentrate on human locomotion and the forces and effects produced (e.g. excessive load and injuries, positive and negative biological effects on bone, muscle, tendon, ligaments and cartilage). His research includes mobility and longevity with applications to clinical assessment (prevention and rehabilitation) and to movement-related products such as orthoses, shoe insoles, sport shoes, surfaces and sport equipment. He has more than 280 publications in scientific journals and is the author and/or editor of eleven books.
