In that position he was responsible for carrying out performance analyses and testing of high-resolution optical systems. He then moved to the Kodak Research Laboratories where he was technical group leader for the development of high-density optical recording systems and materials. He became head of the Systems Technology Laboratory, Physics Division, Kodak Research Laboratories in 1984. In 1987 this expert became Technical Assistant to the Director of Research and Development, Kodak Mass Memory Division. His current research interests are in the areas of second harmonic generation in non-linear waveguides, laser diode-to-waveguide coupling, external cavity laser diodes, optical data storage and modulation/error-control coding techniques used in digital data storage applications. This expert holds 29 issued patents (21 in the field of optical recording).
